We are thrilled to announce that we won two awards at this year’s Observer Business Awards on April 4th. Our team had been nominated in four categories; training and development, employee of the year, personality of the year and young achiever of the year.

Jo Barker and Emma Shepherd were pipped to the post in their awards for personality and young achiever. Jo and her team of trainers (Richard, Jade, Carli, Bev and Gary) did however win an award for training and development. An accolade our Academy Manager is very proud of.

“I am thrilled, my team and I were so happy to be celebrated in this way and we have lots planned in the future of Creations and our training here in Chichester” – Jo Barker

The trainers work along with Havant Academy to nurture years 9,10 and 11 as well as offer plus 16 education and NVQ level 2 and 3 hair and beauty to our very own creations team. We are very excited to announce we will be opening an academy right here in Chichester too!

We then went on to win employee of the year which went to Gary Ashcroft for his work mentoring our young team, social media, community work and in main for his work with Wigs@creations

“I did not expect to win an award on the night but I am thrilled and winning this award helps to recognise an important part of the business but also the hundreds of women we have helped through their treatments and hair loss” – Gary Ashcroft

Wig2
Creations began offering hair loss support over 2 years ago and this has included working with local hospitals, hospices and attending many events to spread the word to help women at a very difficult time.

“When I found out that I would lose my hair during cancer treatment, Gary was both sympathetic and completely pragmatic. We planned my hair loss so that I could use my wig without people noticing. A big ask but it worked. I felt so confident when I left the salon, that I wore the wig out of the salon even though I hadn’t even lost my own hair. I was far more prepared to deal with whatever chemo would bring as I had one less (but very major) aspect to cope with. The wig has been comfortable and amazingly natural due to ‘Gary’s clever cutting. I would never have believed it possible for a wig to look so natural. Now my hair is growing back Gary has been ensuring it looks thicker and fuller by colouring and styling my hair and its new needs. Gary helped me at a very low time in my life, making it much easier to cope with. He’s not only great with hair loss and wigs but a great person too.” Testimonial from Teresa Telus 01.05.2013

Its great to have started 2014 with this success and we can add these awards to the 7 we won last year. We truly have become an award winning salon!
