The Chichester Cake Club
Part of the Creations culture is all about giving back to our community and wherever our team can get involved in community events or local clubs we certainly will! So when the lovely Jan Ellison from The Sweet Jar in Southgate Chichester invited me to the ‘Chichester Cake Club’ I have to say I was very excited.
I can’t say my efforts in baking have been too successful in the past, and although I watch all the TV series, such as The Great British Bake Off, I am certainly no Mary Berry! Thank goodness as a guest of the cake club I was an Observer rather than having to participate in baking.
Held at the Crate and Apple (one of my favourite Chichester independent bar and restaurants) each meeting has a theme, and June was all about the great outdoors. We had everything from Mississippi mud pie, apple cake with hedgerow jam topped with the biggest blackberries I had ever seen, and one of the ladies had baked her creation on the fire pit and brought in what I can only describe as a cauldron, full of chocolate cake and cherries!
This fantastic community club, held on the 3rd Wednesday of every month certainly gets my vote, although I think I still have the last of the sugar rush, I have never eaten so much cake in such a short amount of time!
