Lottie is a senior designer at Creations Hair Salon in Chichester, Lottie joined the salon 5 years ago. She had planned to go to college to do a Veterinary course at Brinsbury college, but ended up popping into Creations to enquire about an apprenticeship in hairdressing… and the rest is history!
Emma: So, Lottie, do you have a particular routine in your working week?
Lottie: I typically like to get to work 30 minutes before I start, so that I can eat my breakfast (normally porridge), to also avoid forever worsening traffic and to prepare for my day ahead. One thing I am is organised, so I like to make sure I prepare for each of my clients and read up on my past notes.
Emma: In those little gaps through your day, in between your clients, what do you do?
Lottie: after each client or any free time in my day I like to catch up on client notes to make sure the guest experience at Creations is top knotch!
Emma: What would you say your hairdressing focus is this year?
Lottie: To expand my knowledge of our ever-changing hairdressing industry so that I keep up with the latest trends. I want to be prepared for any style that my clients would like, and for me to be able to give expert advice.
Emma: What the favourite part of your job?
Lottie: I love to catch up and build relationships with my clients, I love finding out about people!
Emma: What’s the next steps for Lottie through 2023?
Lottie: To set goals to focus on through 2023 and keep revisit them to make sure I am on track. Also, to reflect how far I have come since I started in 2018!
Emma: How do you relax after your day of work?
Lottie: After a full day of hairdressing, I look forward to leaving Creations, heading home to Yapton to spend time with my family and my lovely 3 dogs! I have 2 shih tzus and 1 English bulldog called Trixie, Monty and Trevor.
