Hair Extensions and how to look after them

Racoon Hair Extensions are a brilliant way of adding length or thickness to your hair, and once you have had hair extensions you will be hooked! Here are some hints, tips and frequently asked questions about Racoon Hair Extensions.

Keep your bonds strong

It is really important to dry your hair thoroughly after shampooing, if your bonds absorb the water, they can swell and eventually come loose. Any soft bonds can be replaced when you come in for your maintenance appointment at Creations Hair Salon in Chichester.

How to stop your hair from matting

One of the main causes of matting is when the hair extensions are brushed when they are wet, causing the hair to stretch. a raccoon wide tooth comb would need to be used on wet hair. If your hair is still matting, please book an appointment to come and see one of our Racoon certified stylists.

How to use heat appliances on your hair extensions

You will need to take care when using heat if you have Lux bonds Lux links or Lux wefts. It is always recommended to use a thermal heat protector and do not exceed 160 degrees celsius in heat otherwise hair extensions and natural hair can be destroyed

When you are on holiday

Hair extensions should be applied at least 2 weeks before your holiday. The sun can leave your hair extensions dry so ensure you’re using the correct conditioner recommended to you and do not let your raccoon hair extensions come into contact with your usual SPF. Also be careful of exposure to chlorine or salty sea water.

Spider Hairs

We naturally lose around 100 plus hairs everyday some of these dead hairs attached to the hair bonds creating spider hairs. Keep regular maintenance and rotation appointments to ensure the bonds links and weft’s remain in good condition between times.
