I started in the hair industry at 26, slightly later in life than most! Having qualified quickly within 18 months and then went on to do my NVQ level 3 and teaching qualification a few years later.
Training has always been a huge part of my journey at Creations Hair Salon in Chichester as it’s always good to keep learning so why wouldn’t you?!? I have worked with big industry names such as Lee Stafford, Andrew Barton, Amanda Dicker and spent 2 weeks at the Vidal Sassoon Academy.
My journey working with hair loss started 2 years after qualifying when a dear friend of mine had breast cancer, I wanted to help but couldn’t! At this point i was swiftly signed up to My New Hair and spent a glorious few days with the late Trevor Sorbie, in the Brighton Academy. I learnt so much from him, even on a personal level over a bottle of red one evening in the Cafe Rouge opposite the salon!
I have been helping people choose and personalise their wigs when they go through treatment for over 15 years and I have created a niche in hair loss, supporting women and men through hair thinning and hair loss journeys.
I had a sabbatical in 2016 opening my own salon in Selsey which to my surprise grew to 12 staff and two shops! And then came LOCKDOWN and it was during this time (and stress lets face it) i realised i missed being a hair stylist and more importantly having time!
I came back to Creations Hair Salon in 2022 with the goal of working 4 days a week allowing more family time to spend mostly with my darling nieces Phoebe (18) and Zoe (8) who mean the WORLD to me.
The plans for the future are simple, enjoy every moment of my time with the girls, be the best Uncle I can be and as for my career, to grow into hair loss clinics, extensions, mens hair systems and toppers and be there to support and advise in the good and the bad times – thats what makes this job a true privilege! How lucky am i to have clients i get to grow with, support and get equal support back!
