I can’t believe we have been offering the Wigs @ Creations service now for close to 3 years. I feel so proud of what the team at Creations has done with tackling an area of the hair and beauty industry that many shy away from. We have always been a community minded salon and hearing of a friends struggles and stresses of finding then having cut and fitted a wig that would give her more confidence I began my journey.
I trained with My New Hair, a charity set up by Trevor Sorbie MBE, to learn in depth the various emotional, physical and technical aspects of working with hair loss sufferers.
The greatest journey has been the emotion! Nothing prepared me for how incredible it would feel to make this journey easier for people going through treatment or with alopecia. Don’t get me wrong I have had my moments of tears in the car on the way home and on occasion even with my client, but my feeling is that’s what makes us human.
So having cared for almost 300 women over the last few years and the service being talked about more it was time to bring on board another…..
Claire Easson joined the team during the refit last year and instantly stood out as perfect for working with Wigs @ Creations. She is hard working, focused, highly skilled but most important relatable, kind and caring. Claire slotted in with the team instantly!
Having now completed her intense training with My New Hair and the nurses from Macmillan Claire is now working alongside myself (Gary). We can’t wait to get out into the community and continue our events with Spire Hospital, Rowans Hospice, St Wilfrids and continued support with Macmillan.
