Trends To Rock Your Christmas Party!

Its creeping ever closer, the time of year we all secretly dread… The works Christmas party!
What will I wear? How can I do my hair to look different?

That’s why I am putting this simple guide together for party hair in winter 2014. In previous years Cheryl Cole has been the hair idol, stacks of volume and lots of curl ( the higher the better ). Moving into winter 2014 hair is no longer about height but more about width. The inspirations for many catwalk collections has been the mid 90’s look.
The two looks coming through from the catwalk are… wait for it….. grunge! WHAT I hear you cry. Don’t panic its grunge but clean messy grunge as apposed to dirty and unwashed… PHEW! And the Second look is about glamour, soft sexy waves that are smooth at the roots but create width towards the ends.

Look One: Grunge Waves
This proved a massive hit with our girls during a recent GHD training session at the salon. Simple to do, effective and not too ‘overdone’.

1. First of all split your hair into 4 quadrants.
2. Working on one quadrant take large sections of hair.
3. Using your GHD’s place at the root turning 360% running down the hair.
4. Work 1/3 of the way down and twist the stylers in the opposite direction by 360%.
5. Towards the end, twist the stylers again in the opposite direction 360%.
6. At this stage you will think your hair looks messy and un tidy but keep going.
7. When all sections are waved, use a hairdryer and Sine Spray to rough the hair up.
8. Spray a generous amount of hairspray into the palm of your hand and scrunch away.
9. Re- apply hairspray to desired effect.

Look Two: Sleek Glamour
For a simple elegance for a dressy occasion then this is perfect for you! A little harder to do yourself as sections must be neat.

5. Let the hair slide naturally out of the styler.
