On January 31st 2015 Creations Hair and Beauty turned 17! Carolyn Sweeney and her team have crammed a lot into those 17 years in Chichester. Here is the journey so far…..
In November 1997, Carolyn, on a shopping trip with her mother to Chichester visited a rug shop at 26 Southgate (some of you may remember this). “This would be perfect for a small salon” Carolyn said to her mum (the lovely Roz) when the owner overheard and said ‘Are you looking, I’m about to leave this premises’. Surely this was a sign!
On December 25th 1997 Carolyn became owner of 26 Southgate and gave herself 1 month to transform the salon and on January 31st 1998 Carolyn along with Claire, Emma and two assistants began styling the ladies and gents of Chichester.
Creations grew and grew moving upstairs and Carolyn was forced to move the call centre to her own flat in The Hornet! We saw the Millennium in by renting the shop next door knocking through and opening at double the size. 
Within a few years the team grew to an astonishing 50 employees, started after school clubs, offered NVQ apprentice training, two beauty rooms and Sue (who has just re-joined the team) stood behind her rather large desk.
Then in 2004 Creations for Men opened at 11 Southgate and Carolyn could reclaim her living room and move the call centre and office there. Carolyn began presenting lectures to support salon owners for 365 and still continues to do so.
In 2008 We celebrated our 10 year anniversary with a black tie ball at Rowlands Castle Golf Club and that January changed the colour scheme of Creations from purple to fresh new green and white, new team photos and a spruce up!
Creations continued to grow introducing a wig service (the first in Chichester) in 2011 and in 2012 started educated pupils at The Salon in Havant Academy. 3 pupils still work for us today (Lauren, Carli and Alex). 2013 saw the refit of the salon a two week intense project…
It’s been a great 17 years and this year looks even better with our new branding and Men’s salon refit later this year. Some members of the team have 10 year anniversary this year and I for one I’m looking forward to our 20th celebrations!!
