Here at Creations, community has always been key to the culture of the salon, as well as working with along side other local businesses.
They say competition in business is a good thing, and it certainly was for Creations Hair Salon and Buzby and Blue Salon, when we got a call asking if we wanted a defibrillator!
We were thrilled when Chris, Nigel and Paula at Buzby and Blue called to tell us they had been working with Anne-Marie Hopkins, who walked 106 miles from Winchester to Eastbourne, raising the grand sum of £1,200 for a salon defibrillator, but had in fact been able to buy two! They instantly offered us the second meaning that we can cover two main streets of Chichester City Centre.
A defibrillator is a device that gives a high energy electric shock to the heart of someone who is in cardiac arrest. This high energy shock is called defibrillation, and it’s an essential part in trying to save the life of someone who’s in cardiac arrest.
10 years ago, Anne-Marie sadly lost her Husband in Chichester, If there had been a defibrillator in the near by area, this could have saved his life. By having this machine, it will mean that we have a greater chance of supporting a 999 call and potentially improve the chances of saving someone’s life by 70%.
In the new year the team will be trained in using the machine along with clear indicators in the salon windows that we have a defibrillator.
A huge thank you to Anne-Marie and to Buzby and Blue for donating to us – THANK YOU!
